3. Incidence
incidence of 2–3 per 1000 live births increasing to 40–100 per 1000 live births in premature babies and those of low/very low birth weight
4. clinical manifestations of CP:
- depend on which part and how much of the brain are involved.
- Although the brain injury is static, peripheral manifestations are often not static
5. In all the cases:
- Spinal cord and muscles are structurally and biochemically normal
- Brain lesion is fixed and non-progressive.
- All progressive neurodegenerative disorders are excluded from definition
- There is motor impairment only
